Today we’re going to be talking about TikTok affiliate marketing and how to explode your free traffic within days if not hours from now.

TikTok is one of the best free affiliate traffic sources for affiliate marketing especially if you just getting started because TikTok is like getting on Instagram 10 years ago or getting on YouTube 5 years ago.

This is what TikTok is like right now.

Why TikTok For Affiliate Marketing?

First, I want to show you why you should use TikTok for your affiliate video marketing efforts.

TikTok Has More Downloads Than Facebook

So, the first thing that will kind of blow your mind is TikTok has more downloads than the Facebook and Messenger apps.

Think about that. The Facebook app has been around for over 10 years.

TikTok has been around for 5 years and their app already has more downloads so there are tons of people on it.

And not only that, TikTok isn’t really monetizing as much as Facebook so keep in mind, half of the traffic on Facebook goes to advertisers. People clicking on the ad, that’s where all the traffic is going other than the organic posts on there.

Well with TikTok, they’re trying to build up the following; they’re trying to build up their business first before they start really monetizing it with ads.

So, what’s happening is they’re giving all the traffic to the creators on there because they want more creators so it’s going to make you want to make more content so which helps them out.

And I think right now, the next 1 or 2 years on TikTok is your golden opportunity.

TikTok Is a Great Opportunity

So, as I said, TikTok right now is like starting Instagram 10 years ago.

I personally know many successful affiliate marketers who started TikTok from complete scratch, and in less than one month, they’re all averaging 100K views on their videos.

Not only that, but they’re getting nearly 20 – 100 leads per day.

So, as I said, don’t people just dance on songs on there?

That’s kind of what I thought when I first heard of it and I’m not much of the social media guy, so I don’t even have Instagram or Facebook or really anything.

So, I also went and downloaded TikTok, and my first thoughts were like, okay, this is kind of weird, but then you explore that, there are all kinds of niches in TikTok just like there is in YouTube or Instagram.

So, I want to show you guys some examples.

TikTok Affiliate Marketing Examples

So, now you know why TikTok is such a great opportunity for affiliate marketing, now I want to show examples of successful affiliate marketers on this platform to get you inspired.

Let’s get started.

Example #1

The first guy here, his name is Thomas Garetz and he has around 54,000 followers already.

He started not too long ago and the first thing he’s doing here is the number one sub on YouTube So, he drives traffic for his YouTube channel. He has an arrow pointing to his YouTube channel

The second thing he has his an affiliate marketing lead magnet.

So, once you get 1000 followers on your TikTok, you can actually put a link and this goes straight to your opt-in page.

So, I highly recommend to build your sales funnel first if you want to get the most out of this platform.

And if you don’t have 1000 followers yet, all you have to do is give them your domain name in the video.

So, we’ll talk more about how to do your call to action later on.

But anyway, you can see the videos he’s making.

He’s literally just putting best side hustle #1, #2, #3, and keep in mind, all these videos don’t have to be very long and you can get 10 or 20 videos done in an hour on TikTok and you can just batch them out.

So you can create 10 videos in one hour and then just having that be all your videos for the week and then just doing that like once a week, instead of filming two or three videos every day.

And all the videos he’s doing are very simple and all these are getting up to 24,000 views, pretty crazy what they’re doing.

Example #2

Another example here is the guy who promotes funnel software.

So first I’ve noticed his branding, he kind of has the orange branding so that’s just a quick tip that you can do.

And the whole thing with TikTok is just be entertaining and educating at the same time.

So, for example, the way you would promote a marketing platform, see what he’s doing.

And what he’s doing in this video, he is saying, hey, remember ClickFunnels while there’s a brand-new funnel builder, that’s, you know, way cheaper, way better, and he’s promoting another funnel builder called Builderall.

And he’s saying, go click the link in my bio if you want to get access, I’ll send you more information on.

So, this video alone has like 150 likes, 10 comments, and over 4,000 views.

Just a simple 10 seconds video probably got him a couple of sales. Or if not sales, at least a couple of leads.

So that’s one example of how you can promote recurring affiliate programs using TikTok.

I would recommend you just go follow someone like this and see what they’re doing.

Don’t reinvent the wheel, don’t think you have to come up with all this stuff.

Really you just got to see what people are doing and I’m going to get into that in just a second.

Example #3

The next example for the make money online niche is this guy, Jonathan Montoya.

And you can see just the videos he’s making, just simple, like:

  • 3 Hacks to Going TikTok Viral
  • Top 7 High Skills to Build Wealth
  • 7 High Paying Jobs You Can Do From Your Home

And just getting tons of views.

And obviously, this is more of the make money online niche but again great examples.

Now, let’s take a look how TikTok algorithm works.

Cracking TikTok Algorithm in 2021

The next thing I want to go over, and this is how the algorithm works on TikTok.

Basically, they run it as a point system.

So, the more points you have, the more viral your videos will go.

Basically, how the point system work is:

  • 1 Point = 1 Like

So, if you get a like on your video, so if you get 155 likes so that’s 155 points.

So, the next thing you want is comments.

  • 2 Points = Comment

For one comment, you get 2 points. Very straightforward.

  • 3 Points = Follow

Three points if they follow. So, if they watch your video and from that video, they make a decision to follow you you’re going to get three points on that video. So it’s more likely to get pushed

  • 4 Points = Sharing

The next thing is sharing. So, if people share your video, that’s worth four points. Obviously, TikTok just wants more people on their platform so if they see people sharing your video, they’re going to promote your video more.

  • 5 Points = Watch Time

The next thing is watch time. This is the main thing with YouTube videos. If they watch your video for a long time, you’re going to get way more views. That video is going to get pushed way more because it’s making YouTube more money. Well, the same thing with TikTok, if they watch your whole entire video that’s five points, you’re going to get more rewarded for that.

  • 6 Points = Re-Watch Rate

If you’re doing some tutorials, a lot of people will come back to that same video and they’ll re-watch it because maybe they’re at the store and they saw your TikTok and they got distracted and maybe you gave them some helpful tips but when they went home, they’re like, okay, what did that guy say? They’re going to go back to your profile and re-watch the video. That’s something TikTok really likes apparently. So that’s worth six points.

So, let’s go into the tips and hacks for TikTok.

Making TikTok Video Going Viral in 3 Steps

So, the next thing we want to go over is creating the video.

To create videos on TikTok you have two options.

First, you can put yourself on camera and post your own stuff.

The second option is to create something called a theme page where you can post content without showing your face. For this, you can use a video creator tool like Vidnami. If you want to learn more you read my Vidnami review.

So, now let me show you how to create a TikTok video in just three steps.

Step 1. Hook

First, you have a hook.

So, what’s your hook?

The hook should be the headline on the video.

Here is an example.

So, when people are on TikTok, they’re just scrolling. And especially when they go to your profile, they don’t know what the video is about because there’s not a thumbnail. YouTube has thumbnails.

There are no thumbnails on TikTok so you kind of want to just put whatever your hook is, whatever the title of the video is in the first part.

So, for example, you created a video “Top 7 high-income skills to build wealth”

So that’s your hook.

That’s kind of what you do for the hook, just put the headline on the video.

Step 2. Story

The next part, once you say your hook, then you go into your personal story about the hook or value about the hook.

So, for that example, you would just give some value by naming the top 7 high-income skills to build wealth, and then the story would be:

“When I first started, really, I wasn’t focusing on skillsets, I was just focusing on tactics on making money but then I realized that skills are the most important part so here are the seven skills.

  1. Copywriting
  2. Video marketing
  3. Web Design”

That’s your story. And then the last part of this is your call to action.

Step 3. Call To Action

This is where you make a strong call to action because people will not do something unless you tell them.

So, you have to tell them what to do.

What do you want them to do?

So going back to that example, You would name out the top 7 skills and then you’d say:

“If you want to learn more about marketing and want to learn more about how to develop these skillsets, go and click the link in my bio. I’m going to give you a free video on how to start an online business using these skill sets. I’ll see you there.”

You say something like that and that’s your video.

Took you maybe a minute to make after you actually organize and plan all your videos together.

This doesn’t have to be a long time.

You can do probably 10 videos in an hour. If you really just cut out all distractions and really just focus on this.

TikTok Affiliate Marketing Tips & Hacks

You’re probably wondering, “How am I going to come up with this content and what am I even going to talk about in these weird videos?”

#1. Turn Current Content into TikTok Content

Well, the first thing you can do is you can turn your current content into TikToks

So, if you have YouTube videos you’ve posted, turn them into TikTok content. Take a 10-minute video, simplify it into three steps and make a TikTok video on it. It all has to be 15, 30 seconds a minute long at the most.

#2. Follow Competitors

The next thing you can do to get ideas for your content is to follow your competitors or other affiliates and take their idea and put it in one of your categories.

So, whenever you’re creating content online, it’s good to have just like three main categories that you’re going to be talking about.

So, whether that’s digital marketing, affiliate marketing and make money online, or maybe it’s fitness so on.

It really depends on your niche, but you want to break your niche down into three categories and just go off that.

And I’ll get more into that for example in just a second.

#3. Split Test Your Videos

The next thing you do is when you post your videos is to do was to simply double it.

Let’s say you just created a video called “Top seven high-income skills to build wealth”

So basically, you want to make two versions of that video.

Maybe you do one where you’re just kind of showing on your computer screen, you show these seven skills, and then another one you’d go outside and you have like a different background.

So that’s how you can do split testing and see which one does better after a week or two and then repost the same video that did well.

#4. Repost Your Best Videos

One of the things to keep in mind is that, let’s say you have 20,000 followers.

Well, on average, on TikTok, people only see one of every seven videos you post.

So, your followers will only see 1 of 7 videos you post.

On YouTube, your followers will probably see probably 1 of 3 videos you post.

So TikTok is a lot more just fast-paced, there are so many people posting content, two, three, four, five times a day.

So, this is why it’s good to just repost your best videos. And then again, that’ll give you another video you can post for that day, potentially get more views.

#5. Hashtag Strategy To Rank Higher

Obviously like with YouTube, you got to think of it as a YouTube video.

So, with YouTube, usually, you’re trying to rank for keywords. And, let’s say if you’re starting in the digital marketing niche, you’re not going to try to rank for sales funnel right away, or digital marketing that might be hard to rank for.

So, what you do is you try to go after more of a longer tail keyword. You try to rank your videos for that.

Well, it’s the same thing with TikTok and hashtags.

So instead of keywords, it’s just hashtags on TikTok.

So, if you have under 1000 followers, if you’re just starting on TikTok, then you would use hashtags with anywhere from 100-250,000 views and I’ll give you some examples of hashtags later in this guide.

But anyway, if you go on TikTok the hashtag #alwayslearning, this has 562 million views.

So, this would be really hard to rank for and get views from versus something like #pancakescereal would be a little bit easier even though that still has 45 million views.

So basically, what I’m trying to say is if you’re just starting out don’t go after competitive hashtags, start with hashtags that have 10,000-250,000 views.

#6. Scaling Things Up

And then once you reach a thousand followers or so now you want to start going after hashtags with 250,000 to a million views. And you just kind of slowly scale up.

Once you get to 5,000 followers, then you want to go after hashtags with 1-2 million views.

And then obviously it just keeps scaling that process up.

That’s one of the great ways to really get traffic on TikTok. And the most important thing on Tikhis platform to grow is being consistent. Same thing with YouTube.

These platforms want to make sure that they’re going to promote videos that whoever’s creating the videos, they want to make sure that these people are going to keep making these videos.

#7. Create Your 3 Content Categories

The next thing is, and I talked about this earlier; you want to create your three content categories.

So, whatever your niche is, think of your niche and then think of three categories under your niche.

So, for my niche, the three categories I would have for my TikTok is;

#1. Affiliate marketing

#2. Digital marketing

#3. Online business

So, with affiliate marketing, I would literally just go to TikTok and type in the hashtag affiliate marketing and then see a bunch of video ideas from competitors, see what they’re making on or I can go on YouTube and I can just see what the topic is about.

So maybe it was:

  • “Top 5 affiliate programs to start”,

I can make a quick TikTok showing the top 5 affiliate programs in less than 30 seconds, and then I can use the hashtag #affiliate marketing, #best affiliate programs. Find a bunch of hashtags related to what you’re posting about.

The second video could be

  • “3 step action plan to first sale”.

So that could be another minute video. And remember, we can turn one of these videos into two videos.

The next category is digital marketing.

So, some idea is you could just give the best tools. So, let’s say

  • “3 best tools for digital marketing”
  • “Best funnel builder”

You show the tools on your computer and then you do another video, maybe where you’re taking more of a selfie and you talk about the three tools with just like a talking-head video versus showing it on your computer.

That’s two videos right there just for this one little section under a category.

The third category is an online business.

And the online business hashtag has over 100 million views. So pretty crazy the amount of traffic and the number of people on TikTok right now in this niche.

So, I think some examples for that is just doing like,

  • “Top 3 online businesses to start”

Do a 30 seconds video of the top 3 businesses and then have a call to action at the end saying:

 

“if you want to learn more about the best business model to start, click the link in my bio or go to this domain.”

You can put the domain on your screen on the video.

Another example is:

  • “Best tools you need to start an online business”

So, you can just list out the different tools you need, make a quick video on that.

So that’s an example of what you’ll do to really plan out your content.

 

💡 Pro Tip

Go after your competitors, see what they’re doing, type in these hashtags and just write out a whole list of ideas. And really what I would recommend is just batch your content in one day. Try to make 10 videos, 20 videos, 30 videos, even in one day, and then you have content for the next two weeks, the next month.

Promote Youtube Channel on TikTok

So, another thing you can do is instead of your call to action to your lead magnet, let’s say you posted on YouTube, “7 high-paying jobs you can do from home.”

So, that’s your hook,

And then the story would be listing all of these seven jobs, and then the call to action would be like:

“if you guys want to see a full tutorial on how to start making money from these jobs, I have a YouTube video, go in my bio and click that link and you’ll be taken to the video.”

So that’s another thing people are doing and getting a lot of views from is basically just calling an action, taking them to their YouTube video.

And again, when you’re getting outside traffic, post your YouTube videos, YouTube is going to like that because they’re just getting more views from your outside sources so they’re going to promote your video more.

So that’s a great way to use TikTok to really promote your affiliate marketing YouTube channel or just sending them out to your lead magnet so you can start collecting leads and then do your email marketing from there.

Yes, TikTok allows to post affiliate links in bio but you need to have more than 1000 followers.
